Ace of Spades is a project created by Maerichii in June 2025. The story features modern dystopian aesthetics and is set in early 21st-century Russia.
After losing his family in a massacre, Lukas Orlov gains the ability to predict time and fate, which turns into an advantage to rebel against the forces of a powerful corrupt politician. Under the codename ‘ACE’, he single-handedly establishes a rebellion that becomes a threat to his country’s government while he gambles wth his life to discover the nature of his ability.

Monopoly Hartlovka wins the election and becomes the prime minister of the country, after having manipulated minds and influenced the entire political system, to pursue his goal of securing the entire country and strengthening its systems through violence and control. He issued a massacre of immigrants to ‘cleanse’ the country of outsiders, which involved the parents and siblings of a fortune teller, Lukas Orlov, who was knocked unconscious and taken in by Barok, Hartlovka’s secretary. Lukas’s trauma granted him ‘Fortuna’, an ability that allows him to predict crucial moments in time through the deck of cards. Barok proved to be neutral of the country’s situation, but coerced Lukas to take advantage of his ability.
Using Fortuna along with his other skills, Lukas was able to prevent Hartlovka’s threats against immigrants and civilians under the identity of an unidentified criminal vigilante called ‘ACE’. He establishes a rebellion syndicate called ‘The Dzhokers’ after recruiting a rejected quack doctor named Kieran Tabachnik (’JACK’), who treated his wounds after an incident, and a multilingual American fashion model named Stella Miriam (’QUEEN’), who has relations to Hartlovka to take advantage of. Another person who possesses Fortuna is a physically skilled forensics student called Marie Lovli (’KING’), a distant cousin of Stella, whom Lukas encountered in a train hijacking incident, who later reveals herself to be the assailant of Hartlovka’s political rivals and his daughter called Marina Hartlovka, her real name.
Despite their demented relationship, Lukas manages to change Marina’s perspective and recruit her into joining the Dzhokers, to which she reluctantly agrees. After Lukas foresaw a moment in Marina’s fate where the country is at peace, he convinces her to take on her father’s position as the next prime minister, having trust in her kind-hearted nature, much to the latter’s reluctance and fear that nearly led her to commit suicide. Marina eventually reveals the injector implanted around her brain that would kill her when she disobeys her father’s commands and passes the deadline of her mission, which was to hunt and assassinate Lukas and deliver his ring finger to him.
Marina was then forced to continue serving her father and betray the Dzhokers by exposing Lukas, at the command of Barok, who turned out to be a member of the Lovli Family that possesses the generic trait of Fortuna and Marina’s uncle. Hartlovka had been using Marina and Barok’s abilities to manipulate his rivals and the country’s systems. Barok had given Lukas the ability by transferring a certain amount of his blood in his injury before he succumbed to his terminal illness. Lukas demanded what his goal was, to which the latter responded that he simply wanted to keep Marina alive by fulfilling Hartlovka’s wishes. Kieran and Stella bail Lukas from a public execution and plan to stop Hartlovka.
Marina reunited with the Dzhokers and suggests assassinating her father, as promoting transparency and rights of civilians was not enough to send him to court. Barok does the deed as he falls to his demise in his illness. The Dzhokers covered Hartlovka’s death as an assassination by Barok, and Marina soon becomes the next prime minister. Marina’s former fiancé, Kieran, suggests that he remove the injector in her brain, but she rejects it out of anxiety. After the Dzhoker’s disbandment. the public riots over Hartlovka’s death and turn against Marina, who suddenly becomes deranged and orders the massacre of all of her father’s supporters through a live international television broadcast to remove every trace of him.
Kieran discovers that the injector in Marins’s brain has activated, which contains no poison, but a mind-altering drug. Hearing this, Lukas decides to infiltrate the live announcement of the massacre and force Marina to privately meet up with him to shoot her brain and stop the massacre of her father's supporters, ultimately breaking the chain of her father's tyranny. The public rejoiced at Marina’s sudden death out of sheer misogyny, and much to Lukas’ terror. Three years later, Lukas leaves the country when it finally achieves peace as the public decides to improve its democracy.
